Today I finished stage 1 in my vision of a 60’s inspired boutique bedroom. What you see is 2 sizes of tiles traced out on a wall then hand painted (this was a •long• weekend project!). It’s quite stunning in person. I have always wanted a checkered floor kitchen… so retro! Well, I now have a checkered wall in my bedroom…so fun!!

Okra blossom. Started from a tiny seed, they are exploding in this Texas heat! If you’re a fan of okra (or want to become one) try splitting them lengthwise and throwing them on the grill.

P.S. Pickled okra is a great vodka martini garnish!

This is a must have in your spirits collection.You may have to shop around but it’s well worth it!! This flowery liquor blossoms best when paired with some bubbly. It’s bright amethyst color and floral notes make a fun aperitif for any occasion.
